Feeling Abandoned? God's Promises to Stay with Us

Abandonment. It's a feeling that we all know too well. At times we all may feel deserted by our friends, our family, or even God. But what does the Bible say about abandonment?

In this devotional, we will explore God's promises to stay with us no matter what. He is always with us, and He never abandons us!

The World's Lukewarm Commitment

Abandonment is an experience all humans experience. There's no avoiding it. And though it's a universal experience, it doesn't make the sting any less sharp.

When we are feeling abandoned, it is easy to believe the lies of the world that tell us we are alone. The world tells us that our friends will abandon us when things get tough and that our family will always disappoint us. The world tells us that even God will abandon us when we need him the most.

But the truth is, abandonment is not from God. In fact, it goes against everything He stands for!

God's Promises to Never Leave Us

So what does the Bible say about abandonment? Well, there are actually a lot of verses that talk about how God is always with us and never leaves us!

"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5

"Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me." - Psalm 23:4

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6

These are just a few of the many verses that remind us of God's promise to never leave us. He is always with us, even in the darkest times!

When we are feeling abandoned, we can turn to these verses and remember that we are never alone. God is always with us, and He will never leave us!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your promise to never leave us or forsake us. Thank you that we can always count on you to be with us in the good times and the bad. Help us to trust in you when we are feeling abandoned and alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
